How to validate Adobe audit findings

An Adobe audit finding is an opening claim, not a verdict. Most claims shrink under validation, and the exposure that survives is the only number worth discussing. Here is how to test each line from the buyer side.

Treat every finding as unproven until reconciled

Adobe findings are built from deployment scans and entitlement records, and both are routinely overstated. A scan counts installs that are dormant, duplicated across machine images, or already covered by entitlements the audit did not credit. Your job is to make Adobe prove each gap rather than accepting the headline number as fact.

Set the frame early. Nothing is owed until it is reconciled against your real entitlements and your real usage, line by line. That stance alone changes the shape of the conversation.

Reconcile deployment against entitlement and usage

Pull your own picture from the Admin Console, your SSO and identity logs, and your deployment tooling, then map it against every entitlement you hold across transactional, VIP and enterprise term purchases. Many flagged installs collapse once you credit entitlements the audit missed or strip out duplicates and dormant seats.

Document each correction with evidence. A finding you can disprove with a clean record is a finding that disappears, and a pattern of corrections tells Adobe its raw scan is not the agreed truth.

Reach the surviving exposure on your terms

Work the list down until only genuinely substantiated gaps remain. That residual number is the only one worth negotiating, and by the time you reach it you have already moved the conversation away from Adobe's inflated opening. Resist any pressure to settle the headline figure quickly to make the review go away.

The buyer side outcome is a verified, much smaller exposure, settled on forward terms you want anyway, with a clean baseline that does not inflate your next renewal.

Validation is where audits are won. Reconcile every finding against your own evidence before you discuss a number, because the claim Adobe opens with is almost never the claim it can prove.
